Understanding Test API Keys
When you create a Repliers account, you receive a test API key that allows you to explore and experiment with our APIs. This article explains what you can do with a test API key and its limitations.
What You Can Do With a Test API Key
- Make API requests to test endpoints
- Use interactive developer playgrounds
- Build and test prototype applications
- Evaluate Repliers' API functionality
- Learn API integration patterns
Test API Key Limitations
The test API key provides access to simulated data with the following restrictions:
- Listing data is scrambled and not representative of real MLS® listings
- Property photos are identical across all listings
- No access to real-time MLS® data
Accessing Real MLS® Data
To work with real MLS® listings, your account needs proper authorization from the relevant MLS®. The authorization process:
- Varies by MLS® organization
- Requires compliance with specific licensing requirements
- Must be completed before accessing live listing data
Recommended Use Cases
The test API key is ideal for:
- Initial development and integration
- Solution architecture planning
- Proof-of-concept development
- API familiarization
- Basic functionality testing
For access to real MLS® data and production use, please contact our support team to begin the authorization process. Prior to doing so, we'd recommend our MLS® data licensing guidelines.
