How to Apply as a Vendor for the First Time with PropTx (TRREB)

Prerequisites

Before beginning the vendor application process, understand that you cannot apply directly to PropTx. You must have at least one customer (a real estate agent or broker) to initiate the process. PropTx requires vendors to maintain active customers, and your datafeed will be disabled if you have none.

The Application Process

Step 1: Direct Your Customer to the Agreements Portal

Send your customer to the PropTx agreements portal: https://syndication.ampre.ca/sso/start

They will need to log in using their credentials.

Step 2: Customer Creates a New Agreement

Once logged in, your customer should click "New Agreement" to begin the process.

Step 3: Select Agreement Type(s)

Your customer will need to choose from three types of agreements based on their needs:

  • IDX - For displaying active listings publicly on websites
  • VOW (Virtual Office Website) - For displaying sold listings and providing enhanced data to registered users
  • DLA (Back Office) - For internal use, CRM integration, and displaying the agent's own listings

For more detailed information about these agreement types, refer to: https://repliers.com/understanding-mls-data-feeds-idx-vow-and-back-office-whats-the-difference/

Your customer should create a separate agreement for each datafeed type they require. For example, an agent who wants to display listings publicly and show sold data would need both an IDX and a VOW agreement.

Step 4: Add You as a New Vendor

When creating the agreement, your customer will be asked to specify their vendor. Since you're applying for the first time, they should:

  1. Select "My vendor is not in this list"
  2. Enter your company details as prompted

What Happens Next?

Vendor Approval Process

After your customer submits the agreement with your details:

  1. You'll receive automated emails from PropTx requesting validation of your use case
  2. You'll need to sign vendor agreements provided by PropTx
  3. Your customer will sign their portion of the agreement
  4. The customer's broker (if applicable) will also need to sign

Important Notes

  • PropTx reviews each vendor application and there is no guarantee of approval
  • The approval process evaluates your intended use case for the MLS data
  • Response times may vary depending on PropTx's review workload

For Subsequent Customers

Once you're an approved vendor in the PropTx system, the process becomes simpler:

  • New customers will still need to create agreements for each datafeed type they require
  • However, they'll be able to select your company from the existing vendor list
  • The signing and approval process remains the same

Key Reminders

  • Maintain at least one active customer at all times to keep your datafeed active
  • Each customer needs separate agreements for each datafeed type (IDX, VOW, DLA)
  • Both the agent and their broker must sign agreements where applicable
  • Be prepared to clearly explain your use case during the approval process
