Understanding Email Domain Requirements For Our Messaging Service
Our 2-way messaging service is designed to facilitate seamless communication between real estate agents and their clients. This service supports both generic messages and market-integrated alerts such as listing alerts, sold alerts, and price changes. We offer these messaging services via email and text messaging. However, there are specific requirements and limitations regarding email domains that we would like to clarify to avoid any confusion.
Due to the nature of our proxy messaging service, we cannot use your primary email domain if it's actively in use by your organization for day-to-day activities. This limitation exists because we cannot control your primary domain while allowing you to use it concurrently. For this reason we require an alternate domain name or a subdomain specifically for our messaging service.
Provide an Alternate Domain or Subdomain: Instead of using your primary email domain (e.g., @mydomain.com), we request that you provide an alternate domain or a subdomain (e.g., @notifications.mydomain.com). This helps us manage and route your messages effectively without interfering with your regular email operations.
Set Up the Alternate Domain/Subdomain: If you do not already have an alternate domain or subdomain set up, you will need to create one. Most domain registrars and hosting providers offer easy-to-follow instructions for creating subdomains.
Primary Domain: @mydomain.com
Alternate Domain/Subdomain: @notifications.mydomain.com
In this example, all messages sent through our 2-way messaging service would use the @notifications.mydomain.com address, ensuring that your primary domain remains unaffected.
Separation of Communication Channels: Keeps your regular business emails separate from automated and proxy messages.
Improved Deliverability: Reduces the risk of your primary domain being flagged for spam due to high volumes of automated messages.
Better Management: Allows for easier management and troubleshooting of messages sent through our service.
If you have any questions or need assistance setting up an alternate domain or subdomain, please reach out to our support team.
