Compliance Requirements For Using CREA's DDF

When integrating CREA's Data Distribution Facility (DDF) data into your website or app, specific compliance requirements must be adhered to ensure proper usage of CREA's trademarks, logos, and data. Below are the key requirements you need to consider:

Each property page must display the "Powered By Realtor.ca" logo. The following criteria apply when displaying the logo:

Size and Ratio: The logo must have a minimum width of 90 pixels and maintain a 1:1 ratio.
Linking Requirements: The logo must link directly to the corresponding property on Realtor.ca. When using Repliers, you can reference the details.moreInformationLink value to get the correct URL for linking.

You can find the logo and more information on the requirements here.

2. Display MLS® and REALTOR® Trademark Statements

Each page displaying DDF-sourced property data must include a trademark statement consistent with CREA’s Trademark Policy. For example:

REALTOR®, REALTORS®, and the REALTOR® logo are certification marks that are owned by REALTOR® Canada Inc. and licensed exclusively to The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA). These certification marks identify real estate professionals who are members of CREA and who must abide by CREA's By-Laws, Rules, and the REALTOR® Code. The MLS® trademark and the MLS® logo are owned by CREA and identify the quality of services provided by real estate professionals who are members of CREA.

Ensure the statement is displayed prominently and consistently across all pages where DDF data is used.

3. Implement a Terms of Service via Browse-Wrap Agreement

Websites utilizing CREA's DDF data must present a "browse-wrap" agreement to users, similar to the practice of prompting users to accept or reject cookies. A browse-wrap agreement typically presents the website's terms of service and privacy policy at the footer of each page, and by continuing to use the site, users implicitly agree to these terms.
